[BECKY DOES] a tumon walking tour! ♡

Welcome to Tumon, Guam!
So #dailykevin and I decided to do a little walking tour of Tumon today. I never realized how many beautiful colors and interesting architecture there is in that village. We'll have to start sampling all the new restaurants and cafes that have popped up over there in that last couple of years!  This was such an inspirational walk - there will definitely be more of this to come! ♡

[BECKY DOES] quick bite / Cafe Maru: waffle w/ ice cream

location: Tumon, Gu (next to DFS Galleria)
food: waffle w/ espresso ice cream
price: $$ mid range (waffle was $5.99)
taste: The waffle was moist - not chewy or too crispy. Although this is such a simple dessert, it had a variety of tastes and flavors! The waffle was made from scratch and topped with just the right amount of ice cream and whipped cream ( I hate desserts that are drowning in their sauces. ew!).
thoughts: This was the first time #dailykevin and I have been to Cafe Maru. It's a hidden gem! This quaint little cafe is situated in the heart of Tumon and where you'd least expect it. I find this to be the perfect getaway if you just want to take a break from the chaos of life. lol.

I am such a fan of this color combo! I love the art deco feel - very vintage and sophisticated. I especially love the House of Harlow pieces. Loving this trend! Love the slight 'edgy-ness' to each design without being over the top!

[BECKY DOES] quick bite / capriciossa: shrimp & spinach gratin

restaurant: Carpiciossa

location: Hagatna, GU (inside Agana Shopping Center)
food: shrimp & spinach gratin
price: $$$$ big bucks
taste: This is some cheesy goodness!! The flavors of the creme sauce mixed in with the spinach and shrimp is to die for. This dish served in a hot cast iron bowl is topped off with the most delicious (not too salty) layer of lightly browned cheese (gratin)! Who doesn't love cheese? yum! I couldn't imagine this dish paired with any other noodle than those gigantic rigatoni!
thoughts: I order this every time we decide to dine at Capriciossa. I would say this dish is enough for two with a side of garlic toast - but that is completely up to your appetite I guess!

hooray for ♡ SUMMER♡ ! I was just flipping through this month's issue of ELLE  and was inspired to make a style board for some cute swimsuit outfits! They have a whole spread on the latest swimsuits and what styles are best for each body type. I'll have to say that my fave this year is definitely the one piece peplum styled swimsuit - classy, fun and has such a retro feel!
